pc16Middle School aged students are invited to join the Terre Haute Children’s Museum for a Spring Break “staycation” party, filled with sand, surfing, and science fun!

Students in 6th through 8th grades are invited to the Terre Haute Children’s Museum on Sunday, March 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. for “Middle School Night: Create Your Own Spring Break Party,” sponsored by Refreshment Services Pepsi and DIY Rentals.

Break out your Hawaiian shirts and shorts, because this Spring Break Party will feature sand art, limbo contests, and a summer science lab where kids will learn about ultraviolet light with UV Color Changing Beads. But the fun doesn’t stop there! Surf's up, and the ocean is calling; get ready for summer at the beach and hop on DIY Rentals’ mechanical surf board for the ride of your life. Don't worry about wipeouts, though. Surfers will fall into an ocean of inflatable fun! In addition, we’ll have a DJ, a photo booth and snacks. Pizza and Pepsi products will also be available for purchase.

robo-surfThis event is open to students of middle school age only, and cost is $10 in advance or $12 at the door the night of the event. The Creativity Factory programs at the Children’s Museum, which are being introduced thanks to support from Patrick and Janice Board, are designed to combine science, art and lots of hands-on fun. During the program on March 6, which will last from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., children ages 5 and up are invited to join us as we celebrate Dr. Suess’ birthday!

Participants will begin the evening with dinner, and then they will unleash their creativity as they work to create a fun Cat In the Hat inspired work of art that they will take home with them. In addition, we’ll read one of Dr. Seuss’ books, Yertle the Turtle, discuss the differences between tortoises and turtles, and then participants will get to meet the Museum’s tortoises, Cera and Spike! And, before the night is over, participants will even get some play time in the Museum!

CeraCost for the Creativity Factory Kids' Night Out program is $35 per child, and includes dinner and the take-home art. Registration is required, and participants must sign up at least 24 hours in advance.
