cat in the hatOn Friday, March 6, the Terre Haute Children’s Museum and local artist, Becky Hochhalter are teaming up to present Creativity Factory Kids' Night Out – an opportunity for kids to enjoy an evening of fun at the Children’s Museum while their parents enjoy a kid-free night for themselves!

The Creativity Factory programs at the Children’s Museum, which are being introduced thanks to support from Patrick and Janice Board, are designed to combine science, art and lots of hands-on fun. During the program on March 6, which will last from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., children ages 5 and up are invited to join us as we celebrate Dr. Suess’ birthday!

Participants will begin the evening with dinner, and then they will unleash their creativity as they work to create a fun Cat In the Hat inspired work of art that they will take home with them. In addition, we’ll read one of Dr. Seuss’ books, Yertle the Turtle, discuss the differences between tortoises and turtles, and then participants will get to meet the Museum’s tortoises, Cera and Spike! And, before the night is over, participants will even get some play time in the Museum!

CeraCost for the Creativity Factory Kids' Night Out program is $35 per child, and includes dinner and the take-home art. Registration is required, and participants must sign up at least 24 hours in advance. Parents are not required to stay for the program, but they are welcome to stay and watch their kids learn and create. There is no charge for parent participation.
