WONDERS OF THE WABASH - COMING THIS SUMMER!
Splash, Play & LearnExplore the Wabash River and the Wabashiki Fish and Wildlife Area as those waters connect our communities with our farmlands. From fishing when the morning mist rolls over the Wabashiki wetlands to preserving our farmland to aid in the replenishment of our groundwater, the water table invites you to play with the many ways that people interact with our local water sources.
The water play area is a model of the Wabashiki wetlands and the Wabash River showing how the water interacts with nature, farms, and Wabash Valley communities, especially Terre Haute. Open-ended play opportunities will let kids manipulate water while encouraging the use of the science processes of prediction, observation, experimentation, reflection, asking questions, and retrying. Your kids will discover the importance of caring for the environment created by the Wabash River and the Wabashiki wetlands and they'll notice and manipulate animals, nature and human built additions. This exhibit is proudly presented by the Lilly Endowment and Indiana American Water. Vertical Divider
